Why shouldn't we say bon appetit?

🧑🏻‍🍳 Because, if you think about it, that presupposes that you worry about the quality of the meal upstream
And especially because historically, that means "I wish you a good intestinal transit"...

But then what do we say?

We pay a relevant compliment to the hostess on the table, the menu or the dish in service. And if you are told bon appetit, answer “you too”.
