Me, clove
Milouin invites the new protagonist of your “Me, product” section. A playful text in which a product or a living material is told in the first person in an impertinent, funny and poetic tone. Me, product.
I'm not the type of nail you find in a toolbox, but rather in a kitchen... in a spice box.
I could have been called clove bud because I am very precisely the flower bud of the clove tree, a tree about ten meters high, originally from Indonesia. But my production is just as important in East Africa or Madagascar. So maybe I'm not what you call a full spice - you won't find clove dishes - but I'm a real 'plus' spice: I like teamwork, so you You will often find me in many flavored blends such as Ras-El-Hanout, Garam Massala, Curry or Colombo.
Solo, despite my small size, whole and more rarely in powder, I know how to impose myself with my peppery and warm, slightly bitter notes. To flavor your sauces, broths, stews, marinades, dipped in ham or onion, I am a must.
On the sweet side, I am often associated with the flavors of Christmas. Besides, with my cinnamon and nutmeg friends, we are the winning trio for an ultra-fragrant gingerbread and the mulled wine in which I will have been infused will perfectly accompany this sweetness.
I am not outdone in the field of health: the many medicinal properties of my essential oil rank me among the best natural remedies to treat your stomach aches, migraines and muscle pain.
But where I am the champion, it is to fight against toothaches: place me lightly crushed on the sore tooth, and I will do miracles to ease your pain. Research has even shown that my power over dental pain was comparable to a local anesthetic.
Thanks to my anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and analgesic properties, but also to my powerful taste contribution in your small dishes, by using me, you will be far from crashing!
